Add the work you do during the internship, with the host organisation's permission, and you have evidence to show employers. Our guide to building a digital marketing portfolio explains how to present it.
How the internship works
Every learner who successfully completes the 12-week taught phase is guaranteed an industry placement*, on both the Live Online and Campus routes. Once you successfully complete the 12-week taught phase you move into a guaranteed 12-week placement*, applying what you have learned inside a real organisation: managing company social media accounts, running Meta and Google Ads, SEO, content creation, email marketing, market research, competitor analysis, analytics reporting and AI-assisted marketing tasks. You leave with genuine workplace experience on your CV, a completed project portfolio and a placement completion certificate*.
- Eligibility: every learner on both routes, once you have successfully completed the 12-week taught phase.
- Selection: no separate selection process. Your placement is confirmed when you complete the taught phase, under the placement guarantee terms below.
- Duration and hours: 12 weeks, around 40 hours a week.
- Host: LSBUK or a partner organisation.
- Supervision: structured, supervised work experience.
- Typical work: company social media, Meta and Google Ads, SEO, content, email marketing, market research, competitor analysis, analytics reporting and AI-assisted marketing tasks.
- At the end: an internship completion certificate, workplace experience for your CV and work for your portfolio.
- Location: the internship is completed online, so you can take part from anywhere. Pay: admissions confirm, before you enrol, any payment or expenses terms for your intake.
- Not included: an offer of permanent employment. No course can honestly promise you a job.
Questions about the internship? Email info@lsbuk.co.uk with "Internship" in the subject line, or mention it in the enquiry form. Our guides on what to expect from a digital marketing internship and paid and unpaid internships list the questions worth asking.
Study online or in London
Two routes lead to the same professional certificate. The Campus route is taught in central London; the Live Online route is taught by the same tutors, on the same syllabus, to the same assessment standard - and it is the route most learners outside the UK take. Here is what each of the three places students most often join from looks like in practice.
Digital marketing course in London
The campus route runs at our centre on Malet Street, Bloomsbury (WC1E 7HX), a short walk from Russell Square, Goodge Street and Euston, with a timetable admissions confirm for each intake; check it against your other commitments before you enrol. This is the in-person option: small cohorts, live briefs and the same 12-week internship* as the online route. Comparing providers? Read how to choose digital marketing training in London.
Digital marketing course from the UAE
Learners across the UAE study on the Live Online route without relocating or applying for a student visa. Gulf Standard Time runs three to four hours ahead of London, depending on the season, so a UK evening session falls later in the evening in the UAE; ask admissions for the current timetable converted to your timezone before you book. Fees are charged in pounds sterling with no separate regional branch fee, and the certificate is issued by LSBUK in London. There is no LSBUK campus in the UAE. The placement guarantee* (for learners who successfully complete the 12-week taught phase) applies on the Live Online route exactly as it does on campus. For a UAE-specific checklist, see choosing an online digital marketing course from the UAE.
Digital marketing course from India
Students join the Live Online route from across India. There is no LSBUK campus in India. India Standard Time is four and a half to five and a half hours ahead of London depending on the season, so a UK evening class can fall late at night in India. Ask admissions for the timetable converted to IST. No student visa, no relocation and no travel cost is involved - you pay the Live Online fee and study from home. For learners comparing this against a local digital marketing institute or an online digital marketing certification from India, the differences that matter are live teaching rather than recorded video, a UK-issued professional certificate, and a guaranteed 12-week placement* (for learners who successfully complete the 12-week taught phase) rather than placement "assistance". Our checklist for choosing an online digital marketing course in India covers class times, internship delivery and fees.
Digital marketing course from China
Learners based in China can join the Live Online route. Teaching is in English and live in UK time, so check the class times in the table below against your schedule. There is no LSBUK campus or office in China; fees are charged in pounds sterling. Access to the online learning platform from mainland China has not been tested for every network, so ask admissions to confirm the platform and any access requirements before you enrol. The course teaches internationally used platforms such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok; if your work is mainly on Chinese platforms such as Baidu or WeChat, ask whether the course fits your goals.
Class times in India, the UAE and China
Classes are scheduled in UK time. Ask admissions for the actual timetable for your intake, converted to your location. India is 4 hours 30 minutes ahead during British Summer Time and 5 hours 30 minutes ahead during GMT; the UAE is 3 or 4 hours ahead; China is 7 or 8 hours ahead. UK evening classes may therefore be late at night or on the following day in your country.
| A class starting at 18:00 in London | India | UAE | China |
|---|---|---|---|
| London on BST | 22:30 same day | 21:00 same day | 01:00 next day |
| London on GMT | 23:30 same day | 22:00 same day | 02:00 next day |
Illustration only, not an actual LSBUK schedule.
Everywhere else, the live online route works the same way: if nothing local matched what you were looking for, that is precisely the gap it is built to fill.
Entry requirements
No marketing experience or degree is required, and there is no entrance exam. To join, you need to:
- be aged 16 or over
- hold a high school qualification or equivalent (in India, a Class 12 pass normally meets this)
- have basic computer literacy
- have workplace-level English
For the Live Online route you will also need a laptop or desktop and a reliable internet connection. Admissions confirm each application individually. More detail in our guide to digital marketing course eligibility.
Fees, start dates and course duration
Fees are £650 for the Live Online route and £1,600 for the Campus (London) route, charged in pounds sterling. The taught phase runs for 12 weeks, followed by the 12-week internship*: about six months in total.
The programme runs for six months (24 weeks) in two phases: 12 weeks of classroom and practical training - around 180 hours of guided learning, 90 hours of practical workshops and 60 hours of live projects - followed by the 12-week industry placement* of approximately 40 hours per week, guaranteed for learners who successfully complete the 12-week taught phase. During the taught phase that averages roughly 27 to 28 hours a week; during the internship, about 40. Check the actual timetable for your intake against your work, studies and time zone before you enrol. In total, roughly 810 hours of learning and hands-on experience.
New cohorts start on the first Monday of every month; admissions confirm payment options when you enquire. To compare with other providers, see what a digital marketing course fee should include.
Teaching and learner support
Teaching is interactive, applied and professionally relevant: a practical assignment in every module, live projects, workshops, case discussion and tutor-led feedback, followed by supervised real-world experience during the placement* phase. Class sizes are kept small so every learner gets individual attention. The live online route is taught by the same tutors as the London campus, live rather than pre-recorded.
Admissions and course questions are answered the same working day where possible.
Career skills and progression
Participants leave able to develop comprehensive digital marketing strategies, build and manage social media and paid campaigns, create engaging content, optimise websites for search engines, design automated email campaigns and use AI-powered tools to boost productivity, creativity and campaign performance - all evidenced by a professional project portfolio and real workplace experience.
On successful completion, learners receive the Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing in Practice, a placement completion certificate*, a digital marketing project portfolio and a transcript of learning outcomes. If you are weighing up whether a digital marketing certificate is worth it, this combination - a professional certificate from a London business school plus documented, real-world placement experience - is designed to answer exactly that.
Typical next steps are junior roles such as marketing assistant, digital marketing executive or social media executive, specialist routes in SEO, paid media or content, or freelance work. Results depend on your own work, experience and the job market: the course gives you skills, a portfolio and internship experience, not a guaranteed job.
A worked campaign example
In the taught phase every module ends with a practical assignment. The kind of reasoning you practise looks like this fictional local café campaign: a £100 test budget, a clear tracking plan and an honest write-up.
| Result | Calculation |
|---|---|
| 10,000 impressions, 200 clicks | Click-through rate 2% |
| £100 spend | £0.50 per click; £10 per lead (10 leads); £50 per sale (2 sales) |
| £240 revenue | Return on ad spend 2.4, which is revenue, not profit |
The full brief, plan, calculations, limitations and a template for your own portfolio project are in the campaign and portfolio practice pack. The example is illustrative practice material, not a learner's result.

The internship provides structured, supervised work experience and an internship completion certificate; it does not constitute an offer of permanent employment.
