Identify the exact award

- Size and grading: how the result is graded and reported

Check university and course entry rules
- List two to five target courses, including at least one realistic option.
- Read each course's entry requirements. Look for "other Level 3 qualifications", "access and vocational qualifications" or "international qualifications" sections.
- Check UCAS Tariff points. If a course asks for Tariff points, check whether your qualification carries them. If it does not, the course may still consider it, but you must ask.

Degree after a Level 3 diploma: other routes
If a direct route is not available, you still have options:
- A higher-level diploma first (Level 4 or 5), which some universities accept for entry to the second or later years of a degree
- A degree with a foundation year at a university that accepts your qualification for that
- Work first, then apply as a mature student with your experience
