From £3,951| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Non-technical by default | Most staff need to use AI and judge its output, not build models. Technical training only suits developers and data teams. |
| Live, tutor-led teaching | People practise on their own tasks and get answers to their questions, which a library of recordings cannot give them. |
| More than one tool | Many organisations use more than one AI assistant, and tools change quickly. Skills that work across tools last longer than training on one product. |
| Safe and responsible use | Staff need clear rules on which data they may use, how to check output and when to ask, including under UK GDPR. |
| Published fees and syllabus | You can compare courses like for like before you speak to anyone. |
| A plan to measure impact | Training is worth paying for when you can show what changed afterwards. |
Every adult in the UK can take free AI foundations courses through the government's AI Skills Boost programme on the AI Skills Hub. The courses are checked against Skills England's AI foundation skills for work benchmark, some take under 20 minutes, and people who complete them receive a virtual AI foundations badge. They are a sensible first step for staff who are new to AI tools. When the government expanded the programme in January 2026, it reported that only 21% of UK workers feel confident using AI at work.
Free foundations courses teach people to use simple AI tools. They do not cover the decisions managers face: which uses are worth funding, which data may be used, how to measure results and how to bring a team with you. The courses on this page cover those decisions, with live teaching applied to your own organisation.
If your organisation provides or deploys AI systems in the European Union, Article 4 of the EU AI Act has applied since 2 February 2025. It requires providers and deployers to take measures to ensure, to their best extent, a sufficient level of AI literacy among staff who operate or use AI systems on their behalf. Understanding AI: What Leaders Need to Know gives managers that baseline, and Data Strategy, Governance & Ethics for AI Professionals covers governance in more depth. The courses teach frameworks, not legal advice, so check your obligations with your legal or compliance team.
For organisations
Most executive short courses can be delivered as corporate training for a group from one organisation, live online or on campus in London.
